A special ecumenical celebration of Ireland’s patron saint in word, song and traditional Irish music will take place in St Patrick’s Cathedral on St Patrick’s Day (March 17) at 6.00 pm.
‘Saint Patrick in His Own Words’ is organised by the Dublin Council of Churches which is made up of 13 different Christian denominations in the greater Dublin area. These include Orthodox, Roman Catholic, Protestant and Dissenter and their main aim is to facilitate and explore ways of expressing their common faith together.
The multidimensional service will draw inspiration from St Patrick’s witness and his message of faith, peace and social justice and will focus on his words.
Traditional and modern music composed for and inspired by St Patrick’s words will be performed by Claire O’Donnell & the Kylemore Harp Ensemble, the Ó Floinn Family and a variety of soloists.
All are welcome to attend. See www.dublinchurches.ie or www.facebook.com/dublinchurches for more information.
