The Ven Dr Stephen McBride, Archdeacon of Connor, will present BBC Radio Ulster’s Thought for the Day on four mornings – June 9th, 16th, 23rd and 30th. Archdeacon McBride is vicar of Antrim.
Ballymacarrett Institution
The Reverend John Cunningham will be instituted as rector of Ballymacarrett on Sunday 19th June 2011 at 3.30pm.
John was ordained in 1998 and is currently rector of Ballymoney, Finvoy and Rasharkin in the Diocese of Connor.
He succeeds the Revd Colin Hall-Thompson, now Senior Chaplain to the Mission to Seafarers (NI).
Inspire Missional Discipleship Leaders
The Church of the Good Shepherd, Monkstown are bringing the Director of the Inspire Network UK (Rev Dr Phil Meadows) and a small team of key people. Inspire has grown phenomenally as a mission network in UK and USA in the last 2-3years and is being eagerly adopted as an effective approach to intentional discipleship by all denominations.
Phil, his wife Sam (who heads up KidsInspire), and a young couple Morna and Gary Allen will introduce mission shaped discipleship to key members of the church at a weekend conference in Glenada, Newcastle from Fri 17-Sun 19 June.
The organisers state: We would like to invite any clergy, lay readers, youth/children’s leaders as well as interested key people from your parishes to an open session on the Saturday afternoon (18th) from 2-4.30pm. (lunch is available for £7 from 1pm at Glenada if requested in advance).
