TCD Chapel Choir sing in Vienna

On Saturday 4 June, the Choir will sing at the historic Michaelerkirche (Saint Michael’s Church). This Romanesque church, one of the oldest in the Austrian capital, dates back to the thirteenth century and was once the parish church of the imperial court.

Then on Sunday the Chapel Choir will sing at two services in Christ Church (the Anglican Church in Vienna) – the 10.00am Eucharist and the 6.00pm Evensong when the TCD Dean of Residence, the Revd Darren McCallig, will preach. Christ Church is a multi-generational, multi-ethnic congregation serving Anglicans from around the world.

The Chaplain, the Venerable Patrick Curran, is also Archdeacon of the Eastern Archdeaconary in the Diocese of Europe with responsibility for parishes in Slovenia, Croatia and Slovakia.

There is a strong link between Christ Church Vienna and TCD as George Jackson, a former conductor of TCD Chapel Choir, is currently Musical Director in the Viennese church.
