Derby Cathedral Choir visit

The Choir of Derby Cathedral will give recitals and sing at a number of services in Armagh, Coleraine, Derry, and Belfast from Saturday August 20 – Sunday 28.

The Choir which comprises 12 boys, 7 girls and 13 men will be conducted by the Cathedral’s director of Music, Mr Peter Gould,

The choir will sing at St Patrick’s Catholic Cathedral, Armagh at 7 pm on Saturday 20th, and at the 11 am and 3.15 pm services in the Church of Ireland Cathedral on Sunday 21st. On Tuesday 23rd August there will be a recital in St Patrick’s Parish Church, Coleraine, at 1.00 pm. On Thursday 25th August, there will be a recital in St Columb’s, Cathedral, Derry at 1.10 pm. On Friday 26th, there is a recital in St Anne’s Cathedral, Belfast at 12 mid day. On Saturday 26th the choir will sing at the 6.30 pm service in St Peter’s Cathedral and the following day, Sunday 28th, will sing at the 11. am Eucharist in St Anne’s and also at Evensong at 3.30 pm.

The choir’s repertoire is extensive and includes Byrd, Dove, Mozart, Bruckner, Palestrina and Rutter. The assistant organist is Tom Corfield and the Precentor is Canon Dave Perkins.
