Ireland in Christmas Praise

Salisbury Cathedral has unveiled a 40ft Renaissance-style photographic tableau as its nativity – with Freddie Halliday, the four-month-old son of Simon Halliday, the former England rugby player, appearing as baby Jesus. The cathedral has also put its own clergy, volunteers and staff into the Christmas pictorial, including one of its stonemasons as Joseph, a bookings agent as Mary, a retired postman as a shepherd, and one of the cathedral’s canons and two guides as the three wise men.

Knitted angels spread joy

Congregations in Fife and Perth and Kinross have been spreading Christmas joy with hundreds of knitted angels.
