The official launch of Christ Church Cathedral’s Junior Organ Scholarship Scheme will take place on Sunday 4 September 2011 at 15.30 during the office of Evensong.
The scheme is supported by the Desmond Harman Memorial Fund which was set up after a diocesan collection in 2008. Recipients receive organ tuition, musicianship training and the chance to perform on the cathedral’s fine organ.
Its first recipient, Jamie Boshell, has already completed one year of the scholarship and has recently passed the first year of the Archbishop’s Certificate in Church Music with distinction.
The late Dean Harman’s wife, Sue, will officially launch the scheme during the service, which will be followed by a reception in the cathedral crypt. For more information: Call: 01 677 8099 Email: lesley-anne@cccdub.ie.
