Next Sunday 6 November at 7pm, a quiet and reflective Service of Thanksgiving and Remembrance for Loved Ones will be held in St Paul’s Church Glenageary Dublin at 7.00 pm. Music includes extracts from Faure’s Requiem, Rutter’s A Clare Benediction and Sibelius Be still my Soul as well as hymns for all to sing.
This service combines silence, readings, Taize chant, hymns, plainchant and choral music sung by the choir in a very moving way to help all present to give thanks and remember family members and friends who have died, whilst at the same time affirming that they, and all the departed are loved by and cared for by God and that one day we will be reunited with them.
During the service the names of those to be remembered are read aloud and a candle is lit and placed on the Holy Table by relatives.
Music includes extracts from Faure’s Requiem, Rutter’s A Clare Benediction and Sibelius Be still my Soul as well as hymns for all to sing. The choir is directed by Derek Verso with David Connolly at the organ and the service is lead by the rector, Revd Gary Dowd.
