Special concert for Bronte Music Club

Belfast Community Gospel Choir (BCGC) is hosting an evening of praise this Saturday at the Bronte Music Club, Banbridge.

This is BCGCs first time to the Bronte Centre and director of the choir, Marie Lacey, said she is “so excited” to have been invited to such a good venue.

“I looked at the Bronte Centre last year and it’s gorgeous. so I cant wait to perform on Saturday.” she said.

The night promises to be a collective mixture of pop, soul and gospel music. “It’s going to be a regular concert so we have such a wide variety of music planned, even a few Beatles classics, alongside some catchy Christmas numbers.”

Marie wants people to feel the joy of the music and believes that anyone who attends the concert will come away feeling happy and festive from a “footstomping, hand clapping performance.”

She added: “This is feel good music, we never sing anything that doesn’t have elements of joy, love and peace.”

BCGC is made up of over 100 singers and prides itself on being a multi-cultural and cross community choir. Although based in Belfast, BCGC has members from all over the province. Marie said: “We have people from as far as Nigeria and Poland, we are a 100 percent community choir and not affiliated with any church.”

With their own Christmas concert planned and a debut album Launch in December, entitled ‘Feel The Joy’, BCGC is going from strength to strength and those lucky enough to get tickets for this Saturday night are in for a great performance.

Tickets are priced at £18 and can be purchased from Banbridge Tourist Information at the FE McWilliam Gallery – Tel: 028 40623322. Doors open at 8.30pm for 9.00pm show.
