Dublin based Nigerian Gospel singer’s aim

Lara Royal left the shores of Nigeria to seek greener pastures in Europe, but her passion for music took control and she is pursuing music with vigour from her base in Dublin.

Who is Lara Royal?
I’m, a gospel artiste based in the Republic of Ireland. I’m a graduate of Accounting and Management Studies and an affiliate of the Association of Chartered and Certified Accountants (ACCA). I have a music ministry.

Where were you born and what was growing up like?
I was born in Lagos Island; I lived in many parts of Nigeria: Lagos, Kwara, Oyo, Osun and Plateau States at different times. I had a good upbringing with the fear of God.

What of your education?
I had my primary education at St. Barnabas Primary School, Ilorin, Kwara State and St Anthony Secondary School also in Ilorin, Kwara State before finishing my secondary education at Oluorogbo High School, Ile – Ife, Osun State. I attended Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile – Ife where I read Management and Accounting. I also enrolled for many programmes and did some professional examinations mostly in the line of Accounting and Management Studies.

When and why did you leave Nigeria?
I actually left few years ago due to the need to see and overcome my challenges. I have had this urge to seek prospect and greener pasture for something new; I mean the ‘adventurism’ to break new grounds.

When did you start singing?
I started singing when I was little, while in Sunday school at the Evangelical Church of West Africa (ECWA), but was more serious when I joined a musical group called The Beacons and from there, became Praise Team leader in Rhema Chapel.
