Archbishop of York visits farming community

The Archbishop of York a farm near Knutsford this week to offer support to the county’s farming community.
Dr John Sentamu, visited Clay Bank Farm in Allostock to see how agricultural communities are coping after tough economic times and contamination by animal diseases, such as TB and F in recent years.

In company with the Bishop of Stockport, Dr Sentamu travelled to the area for lunch with the Diocese of Chester’s Agricultural Chaplaincy team, whose members work helping people in rural communities.

The farm is owned and run by the Garnett family and the Archbishop told the local newspaper he had visited the farm to offer his support.

“I spoke to Tony about the whole question of TB, which in many ways doesn’t get a high profile and proper science needs to be done,” he said.
