“And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by men. I tell you the truth, they have received their reward in full. But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.”

AND A PRAYER…OR TWO
Gracious God, heavenly Father, accept our prayer for your Holy Church. You have built the Church upon a rock and promised that the gates of hell would not prevail against it. You have given to us the gifts of your Spirit and the keys of the kingdom of heaven. Grant, we pray, that your Church may grow and prosper in the good news of the Gospel. And bring us at the last to a perfect union with you in your heavenly kingdom. For we ask it in the name of him who is the Rock and the Cornerstone, Jesus Christ our Lord.
