Dublin Diocesan Secretary, Connor pastoral training, Day of Prayer for Revival, Cathedral Grammar School Service, Birr Flower Festival

Dublin Diocesan Secretary

Mrs Sylvia Heggie has been appointed as Diocesan Secretary. She is taking up her post immediately.

The Most Revd Dr Michael Jackson, Archbishop of Dublin and Bishop of Glendalough stated, “The appointment of Sylvia Heggie as Diocesan Secretary in Dublin and Glendalough will provide a sound administrative core to the working of the diocese. Sylvia is experienced and respected already and I greatly look forward to working with her in the life of the dioceses.”

Originally from Castlebar, Sylvia has a background in the civil service and the insurance sector. She has assisted in the diocesan office for the last number of years.

Sylvia is married to Brian with three adult daughters. The family are members of Whitechurch parish.Speaking of her new position, Sylvia said she was “pleased and delighted to accept the appointment” and was very much looking forward to the job.

Connor pastoral training

More than 90 clergy and pastoral visitors from Connor Diocese attended a training event in Antrim on Tuesday May 17, Guest Speaker at the ‘Refresh and Revive’ evening was Helen Clark, who has trained as a nurse and counsellor/trainer and is a Myers Briggs Practitioner. The event was organised by Connor Diocesan Training Council.

During the course of a very successful evening, Helen discussed topics including a Biblical basis for caring; If only you would listen … and Compassion with boundaries. Her particular interest is in encouraging younger leaders in their personal development and spiritual growth. Helen grew up in a ministry home in Cork and has been involved in ministry with her husband Bishop Ken Clark both north and south of the border, and in Chile.

Day of Prayer for Revival

Divine Healing Ministries is holding a Day of Prayer for Revival on Saturday June 25.
The event, entitled ‘Revival – the real hope for this country,’ takes place in St Anne’s Cathedral, Belfast, from 10-30am until 3.30pm.

Speakers will include the Rev Desi Maxwell, the Rev Pat Collins, Pastor Lindsay Allen, the Rev Dr Godfrey Brown, Paul and Sharon Reid, Des Dick, Pastor Hendrik from Colombia and the Rt Rev Ken Good, Church of Ireland Bishop of Derry and Raphoe.

The day will be opened by a special guest, and the closing words will be by Canon Brother David Jardine of Divine Healing Ministries.

Cathedral Grammar School Service

On Friday 27 May at 11.30am, the Grammar School end of year service will be held in the Lady Chapel of St Patrick’s Cathedral, Dublin.
