Canon Cecil Mills contribution to St Patrick’s
Canon Cecil Mills has announced his retirement from the parish ministry on June 30. Ordained in 1967, for much of his ministry he has been connected with St Patrick’s Cathedral. He became a minor canon in 1969 and then Succentor in 1977. He was elected to the chapter in 1992. He was appointed Treasurer by the Dean in 2002. Paying tribute to Canon Mills in the May issue of “Close News”, the Dean, Very Rev. Dr. Robert McCarthy, said he has been an exemplary priest, first in Skerries, and since 1986, in Holy Trinity, Killiney. We will miss him from the cathedral where he was careful to keep his residence and was a frequent occupant of his stall at Sunday Evensong.
Restorative justice lecture – Belfast
The next St. Bartholomew’s lunchtime lecture, will be given on Tuesday May 10 at 1.10 pm by Dr John Stannard on the theory and practice of restorative justice.
In the footsteps of St.Ninian
A four-day trip visiting s St.Ninian’s Cave, St.Ninian’s Chapel, St.Ninian’s Centre and Priory is being held from 13th to 16th of August 2012.

Lay vicar appointment
Gerald Rogers has been appointed by the Dean of St Patrick’s, Dublin to the on the nomination of the organist, to the vacant cantoris bass lay vicarship. Four candidates were auditioned. The Precentor also took part in the auditions.
