Salsa in Mount Merrion
For one night only! This Friday 24th June at 7.30pm in Mount Merrion Church Hall the parish’s South American Mission Society (SAMS) link missionary in Argentina is coming to run a Salsa dancing evening.
Cecilia will teach you how to dance salsa so anyone of any ability is welcome to come along for a great fun evening. Cecilia will be sharing briefly about her work at the end of the night, refreshments will be served and there will be a collection towards the work she is doing in Argentina.
Cecilia will also be at the Sunday morning service at 10am when she will be sharing more about what God is doing through the Redbox scheme in Argentina.
Cecilia is a SAMS Ireland Latin Partner in Salta, Argentina. She came to Northern Ireland in 2005 and made a big impact with her dynamic ministry in many churches. She returned to Salta and is now the co-ordinator of the Red Box project establishing education and development projects through local churches.
40th Anniversary of Ordination
There will be a service in Whitechurch Parish Church on Friday, 1 July at 7:45pm to mark the 40th anniversary of the Rector’s, the Revd Canon Horace McKinley’s, ordination as a priest.
The service will be followed by refreshments in the Vicarage. Any parishioner is very welcome to attend. The Rector requests no presents, but cherishes instead the gift of your presence.
Appointment: Parish of Newtownards
The Revd Chris Matchett, incumbent of the Parish of Magheracross, in the Diocese of Clogher, has been appointed as incumbent of the Parish of Newtownards, in the Diocese of Down. He succeeds Rev Canon Ken Smyth.
Grouped Parishes of Clonallon & Warrenpoint with Kilbroney
The Revd Colin McCormack, former Assistant Chaplain to the Costa Blanca Chaplaincy in Spain, has been appointed as incumbent of the Grouped Parishes of Clonallon & Warrenpoint with Kilbroney, in the Diocese of Dromore.
Connor Clergy retreat in North Wales
Clergy from Connor Diocese travelled to Bethesda, North Wales, on retreat from June 14-16. The retreat was led by Canon Leslie Francis and Dean Elect Sue Jones.
