The first One City One Voice carol service has been held in Guildhall Square, Londonderry, following a procession of light from St Columb’s Park via the Peace Bridge.
The Derry Journal report – prior to the event stated: The service will be led by choirs from the four main churches accompanied by children from St Patrick’s Primary School, Pennyburn, and Ebrington Primary School choirs.

As well as experiencing the sound of Christmas, the church leaders will share their Christmas Messages for the City.
Refreshments of tea and coffee will be provided at the event with the support of Cornerstone Church.
Liam Milligan, Chief Executive with the Churches Trust, said: “This is an event for the whole community which I hope will help to generate the true spirit of Christmas across the city.
“We are indebted to everyone who has made it possible, especially the choirs and children taking part and our partners Derry City Council, Community Relations Department and Cornerstone Church.

Church leaders who are due to attend the One City Once Voice carol service are Most Rev Dr Seamus Hegarty, retired Bishop of Derry, and Rev Ken Good, Bishop of Derry amd Raphoe; Rev. Dr. Robert Buick, Moderator of Presbytery Derry and Donegal; and Rev. Peter Murray, Superintendent, Methodist Church.
