Newry born and educated, Francis Campbell, former British Ambassador to the Holy See gave the final Lent 2011 Faith Matters lecture entitled ‘Faith and Diplomacy’ at Mount Street Jesuit Centre. The series has looked at faith in public life.

Nigel Marcus Baker OBE MVO has been appointed Her Majesty’s Ambassador to the Holy See. He will succeed Francis Campbell who has transferred to another Diplomatic Service appointment. Mr Baker will take up his appointment during August 2011. He is a career member of HM Diplomatic Service. He joined the FCO in 1989.
