Online training to help people identify the signs of domestic abuse
Online training to help people identify the signs of domestic abuse is being offered by the Anglican Communion.
The webinar, Domestic Abuse: identifying the signs, is one of five webinars being offered by the Anglican Communion’s Director for Gender Justice during the 16-Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence. The international campaign takes place each year between 25 November – the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women – to 10 December – Human Rights Day.
The identifying the signs training webinar is being offered on three separate occasions during the 16 days at different times, to reflect the global nature of the Communion.
The Anglican Communion is offering four online panel discussions during the 16 Days: Addressing Gender-Based Violence Around the Communion; Engaging Men in Ending Gender-Based Violence; Theology and Prayer: How our theology engages us and motivates us to act; and Advocacy and Gender Justice.
A social media campaign will run with daily informational Tweets from a number of Anglican Communion Twitter feeds, including the main [ @AnglicanWorld ] account and [ @AnglicanUN ] – the Anglican Communion’s Office at the United Nations.
On Tuesday 24 November the Anglican Communion broadcast a conversation between Mandy Marshall, the Anglican Communion’s Director for Gender Justice, and Archbishop Thabo Makgoba, Archbishop of Cape Town and Primate of the Anglican Church of Southern Africa. The video will be available on YouTube, Facebook, and here at the Anglican Communion News Service website.
