Bishop Paul Colton has welcomed the appointment of the Bishop of Cloyne by the Pope. The Bishop-elect William Crean, from Kerry, has said he had accepted the post with “considerable trepidation”. The diocese had been at the centre of the church’s concerns on child protection.
