Anglican priest’s support for Foyle Pride
An Anglican priest from County Tyrone made the trip to Derry to show solidarity with Foyle Pride at the weekend. Rev. Andrew Rawding, Church of Ireland rector for Coalisland and Stewartstown, travelled to Derry to support the Foyle Pride parade, which was met with a protest from a religious group at the Duke Street Roundabout. Rev. Rawding held up a placard, declaring: “We are sorry for how the church still treats LGBTQI+ people.” – Derry Journal
InSpire kids trail to be launched at Belfast Cathedral
Belfast Cathedral recently partnered with Sean Greer Design in an effort to open the Cathedral space up more to families and schools.
Funded by the Church of Ireland Priorities Fund, this project has enabled the Cathedral to develop an offering for children which will allow them to interact with the Cathedral and learn its history, something we did not have before.
The ‘InSpire’ concept, drawing on the Cathedral’s unusual architecture and the desire to have children and adults engage more with the space, was developed by Sean and Clare Greer whose dedication to the project stemmed from the idea of creating an experience that visitors will enjoy and remember.
By creating a fun and new experience for families, the Cathedral wants to encourage visitors to view this space as their own to explore and be proud of, creating new memories that they’ll cherish.
Through the InSpire Kids Trail, children (and adults!) will be inspired by their surroundings, discover something new, and will use their imagination to connect with the rich heritage of the Cathedral.
The InSpire Kids Trail will officially be launched on Saturday, 31st August, you are invited to come and celebrate this new development throughout the day.

Psalms Online with Church Music Dublin
Church Music Dublin has commenced an ambitious project to put the Psalm(s) for each Sunday of the liturgical year online, with an accompanying chant. This follows the very successful seminar, led by Ian Keatley, at Christ Church Cathedral, Dublin in March 2019, which alerted us to the continuing interest in Anglican chant. An outcome of the seminar was that we became conscious that choirs and congregations in parish churches would value assistance with psalm singing.
Permissions were sought from the Archbishops’ Council of the Church of England, and the Royal School of Church Music (RSCM) and the project began. Chants chosen (transposed to a lower key where necessary) will repeat frequently, in order to assist them to be committed to memory. Pointing follows that found in the Book of Common Prayer 2004 and every psalm sheet will be printable in A4 size.
CMD hope this project will not only assist parish churches but will become an archive of Anglican chant for reference by Christians in other traditions.
