Christ Church Cathedral, Dublin all past choristers are invited to attend a rehearsal at 2pm, culminating in the singing of Evensong at 5pm.

Hillsborough Fort, Co Down. 2-5pm.  Picnic by the Lake – a thank you event for Christian Aid collectors and volunteers.  All welcome.  Brass Band, BBQ, Historical Tours and finally a special Epilogue Service at 5pm in Hillsborough Parish Church let by the Right Revd. A poetry evening with Seamus Heaney, Nobel Laureate, in Nun’s CrossChurch, Ashford, Co Wicklow, at 7.00pm. Guitarist Eamon Sweeney will accompany Mr Heaney.

  The Day of Pentecost – Whitsunday
RTE Radio will broadcast a service of parish communion from one of the last remaining churches without any electricity: Shankill church, Paulstown, Co.Kilkenny, part of Leighlin union, when the celebrant will be the Very Revd Tom Gordon, and the preacher will be the Revd Willi Stewart.

3.00pm – Annual open-air interdenominational service which has customarily been led by both Bishops of Clogher will take place on the historic site of Devenish Island in Lower Lough Erne.

St Patrick’s, Coleraine, Choral Festal Evensong 3.00 pm. It will be sung by ‘Counterpoint’ & The Parish Choir, conducted by Reggie Patterson. Organist – Phillip Elliott MA (Oxon) FRCO. Inaugural Organ Recital by Professor Ian Tracey at 5pm. See reports this site.

Annual Ecumenical Service organised by parishes in the Whitechurch area, Dublin diocese,will take place at St Columcille’s Holy Well, Ballycullen Road, at 3.00pm

Mon 13  – Thurs 16 – Fellowship of Contemplative Prayer (Ireland) meets in Dangan Park, Navan, Co Meath

Tues 14 -Mindset – Dundonald. For all involved in teaching the good news of the Gospel to young people. St Elizabeth’s Hall. 7.30pm.

Wed 15 – The lunchtime recital in St Mary’s cathedral, Limerick on Wednesday will be given by pianist Stuart O’Sullivan who will play works by Mozart and Liszt.

The newest Irish branch of the Mothers’ Union is Celbridge, Straffan and Newcastle-Lyons in Dublin diocese and members will be enrolled in Christ Church, Celbridge at 8pm.
