A large Belfast choral group are busy putting the finishing touches to what promises to be a ‘gold medal performance’ before taking to the stage at The Ulster Hall
The group, made up of 100 singers from all across Belfast, are part of Sing Live Northern Ireland. The concert, entitled Sporting Anthems, is to welcome the 2012 Games.
They will be singing Proud, the official theme for Lodon’s bid for the 2012 games. Also on the playlist are Barcelona’s Amigos Para Siempre from 1992, Dare to Dream from 1992 and Time to Say Goodbye from 2007′s Special Olympic games. World in Union, Simply the Best and Shine are among other songs.
The singers are no strangers to the world stage, having performed across the world as part of Sing Live. In 2011 they sang in Florence, Assisi, Pisa, The Fjords, Vienna and Salzburg.
Sue Phillips, Vocal Coach from Bangor said: “I am so excited about this concert, there are such powerful and moving songs written to celebrate sporting events and we are thrilled to be singing just some of them.”
Tickets for the Sporting Anthems concert are available online now from The Ulster Hall and Waterfront Box Offices.
