The Belfast Community Gospel Choir (BCGC), will present its second standalone concert ‘Feel the Joy’ at the Spires Centre in Belfast. The concert, which takes place on 18 June 2011 and which celebrates joy and happiness, is a multicultural and multi faith event where all are welcome.
The choir’s repertoire includes ‘Can You Feel It’ by The Jackson Five, ‘Sir Duke’ by Stevie Wonder, ‘Little Help From My Friends’ by the Beatles and well loved classics such as ‘I’ll Be There’ ‘Stand By Me’ and ‘Oh Happy Day’, Singing with power and energy, the voices create a dynamic vocal performance of some of the greatest soul and gospel songs ever written. Founded in 2009 the choir is made up of 80 auditioned singers and has already enjoyed success with many sell out concerts across Northern Ireland. Led by charismatic musical director and choir founder, Marie Lacey, members take great pride in the fact that the group is completely multicultural and cross community.

Marie’s own performing career has been an interesting one, with over 30 years experience, several CD recordings and multiple performances on TV and radio as well as shows throughout Ireland, Europe, South Africa, Thailand, Canada and the USA.
The ‘Feel the Joy’ concert promises to be an extravaganza of feel good and foot stomping music enhanced by video images by internationally renowned VJ, Shakinda. – a feast for the eyes and the ears.
