Pipeworks Festival

David Leigh will perform Francis Pott’s Christus in St Patrick’s Cathedral, Dublin, on Thursday 23rd June at 8.00pm as part of the 2011 Pipeworks Festival.

Tickets cost €15/€10 and are available from the Central Ticket Bureau www.ctb.ie or at the door.

This monumental work occupied its composer from 1986 until 1990 and it lasts for over
two hours. It was first performed on 11 April 1991 by Iain Simcock in Westminster Cathedral, London, before an audience of over 500.

Christus has been justly recognized as an ‘Everest’ of the organ repertoire and has been
performed by only six organists from among the world’s virtuoso elite: (in
chronological order of their respective first performances) Iain Simcock, Jeremy
Filsell, David Goode, Robert Quinney, David Leigh and Kevin Bowyer.
