Dr Chris Wright is the guest speaker at two events –
On Thursday 27th January the college will host “Biblefresh 2011” which is an event for ministry leaders. There is also a lecture on “Just Genocide? Wrestling with Religious Violence in the Old Testament”.
Chris is International Director of the Langham Partnership, having previously served in pastoral ministry and taught in theological colleges in the UK and India. He is the author of numerous books including, The Mission of God (IVP, 2006) and The God I Don’t Understand (Zondervan, 2008).

Session 1: Leadership without Idolatry
If God’s mission–and our purpose as leaders–is to bring people into the blessing of knowing and worshipping God alone, it’s perhaps not surprising that the greatest threats to our people are the ‘gods’ which inhabit our world. But what if the greatest threat to our ministry is not the idolatry of the people around us, but the idolatry of God’s people themselves? In this session, Chris will help participants wrestle with some of the key leadership challenges today.
Session 2: Ezra: The Word Made Fresh
In this session, Chris will follow in the footsteps of Ezra and unpack important practical insights for ministry leaders seeking to make the Word fresh today

“Just Genocide? Wrestling with Religious Violence in the Old Testament” will be given by Dr Chris Wright. Thurs 27th Jan, at 7.30pm.
In a world where great violence continues to be done in the name of religion, how do we understand, let alone defend Scriptural stories of ethnic cleansing by God’s people as with the Caananites? Chris Wright will wrestle with the challenging issue of religious violence in the Old Testament
