You can’t sit on fence challenge – sport's personality speaker

Football manager tells Knockbreda Church Men

The manager of Ballymena United Football Club and Director of Crown Jesus Ministries challenged the large gathering of men to join “the Jesus team” and play their part in the service of others. He said  “The call of Jesus is very clear. He calls on us to follow him and serve others.” Drawing from his own relationship with God, Roy encouraged the men to read the Bible and to “crown Jesus as the Lord of their lives.” “You can’t sit on the fence.”, he said. “You have to decide. The Lord says, ‘Choose this day whom you will serve’.”

The Rector, Ven. Philip Patterson thanked Roy for giving up a busy Saturday morning to address the breakfast and appealed for the men to act upon what Roy had said.

The Men’s Breakfast is a monthly event at Knockbreda Parish Church Hall, where men come together to enjoy Christian fellowship and an Ulster Fry. This year the guest speakers have been Ken Clarke, Bishop of Kilmore; Paul Clarke, UTV Newsreader; Rev Stanley Gamble, Orange Order Grand Chaplain; and Rev. Chris Bennett, Chaplain to the Titanic Quarter.
