A rare mixture
This year’s DDYC (Down & Drmore Youth Council) confirmation weekend at Castlewellan promises to be “a mixture of fun, worship, mad games, great talks, interesting people, cool small group leaders, weird small group leaders, unforgetable Saturday night mayhem and even some learning about the Big Man above…”
Brandy, the Diocesan Youth Officer, in speaking to youth leaders and rectors says, “the weekend is open to young people who may not be part of the Confirmation process this year and so it may suit your youth group even if your church is not having a Confirmation in 2011. It is especially relevant to young people aged 12-15.”
In other words, he’s selling it as a package holiday for leaders… “We’re like a DDYC version of Butlins – bring the whole family, and we’ll do all the work!”
