SPEAKING TO THE SOUL

Thursday 22nd September

A QUOTE, A TEXT AND A PRAYER…OR TWO
The churches have been asked to take time between September 1 and October 31 to reflect on Creationtime. PRAY2DAY is observing Creationtime this week

A QUOTE

“Nature never taught me that there exists a God of glory and of infinite majesty. I had to learn that in other ways. But nature gave the word glory a meaning for me. I still do not know where else I could have found one.”
— C. S. Lewis (1898-1963), Christian author and professor

A TEXT

Jesus called his disciples to him and said: “I feel sorry for these people; they have been with me for three days now and have nothing to eat. I do not want to send them off hungry, they might collapse on the way.” Matthew 15:32

AND A PRAYER…OR TWO

Eternal God
you crown the year with your goodness
and you give us the fruits of the earth in their season:
grant that we may use them to your glory,
for the relief of those in need and for our own well-being;
Through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen

Come, Holy Spirit–Renew the Whole Creation

O God, the Holy Spirit, come to us, and among us; come as the wind, and cleanse us; come as the fire, and burn; come as the dew, and refresh; convict, convert, and consecrate many hearts and lives to our great good and thy greater glory, and this we ask for Jesus Christ’s sake. Amen.
