Hatching Help for Rwanda in Derry & Raphoe

Derry and Raphoe’s Bishops’ Appeal project in Rwanda was the focus of two services last Sunday.

The intriguing name Hatching Help for Rwanda arose because the project is about poultry. Funds raised will supply up to 500 female birds and 50 cocks to provide eggs for hatching. The eggs will be hatched into one day old chicks that will be distributed to individuals, families and small farmers. Priority will be given to orphan headed households and those guardians who have taken orphans into their family.

A spokesperson for the diocese said: “These special services are an excellent opportunity to highlight our Hatching for Rwanda project. It reminds us that whatever difficulties we are facing here that it is still important to think of others”.
