Irish volunteer mission team leaving for Haiti

Seventeen people from all over Ireland are going to HaitiThey are part of a Methodist Mission Society Volunteers initiative from 28th December until 16th January.

The team are travelling at the request of the Methodist Church in Haiti aim to help finish rebuilding two apartments which have been halfway completed and which are located in a part of Port-au-Prince which did not suffer as much earthquake damage. This is an area where many businesses are now moving into as a result. The apartments would be very easy to rent out either as residences or offices. This means that if the team can finish this building then a rental income will be available for the ongoing work of the Methodist Church in Haiti from early in 2011. This is a crucial project in providing much needed income for the Methodist Church of Haiti so helping to replace some of the income that was lost due to the earthquake.
