Isabel Suckling, the York choirgirl recording artist, is the subject of the weekly half-page interview in the current issue of The Church Times.
Fielding a question on choirgirls or choirboys, she says, “It’s harder at my age to sing with such a deep voice as a boy – I don’t mean in pitch but with such a rich tone. Girls’ voices don’t break, and they can carry on singing high and pure.”
The Choirgirl Isabel was released by Decca on November 22 and entered the album chart at number 55.
