A new vision for the Kilbroney Centre

The Church of Ireland residential Centre at Kilbroney is currently undergoing several changes as part of its new vision and plans for the future.

The Centre, which has been used by church groups for over 30 years, is now being managed under a new Board with the responsibility for expanding the potential of the ministry at Kilbroney.  This includes plans to expand the capacity of the Centre (from 55 to 78 beds) as well as providing new activities at the site for visiting groups to use.    Commenting on these plans the new chairman of the Board, Jarlath Quinn said; “It is a great privilege to be part of these new developments at Kilbroney and we are very excited about its potential growth in the future.  The Centre currently provides excellent accommodation in a beautiful part of the world and we hope to develop this potential further.  We are planning to expand the accommodation to take up to 78 people and install new activities to make full use of the extensive grounds to provide activities for groups.  It is also hoped that the Centre will soon be running summer camps as we look to realise its potential for ministry to young people.  Please do join with us in praying for these plans for the future.”

The Kilbroney Centre in Rostrevor is in the parish of Kilbroney, Diocese of Down and Dromore. The aim of the Centre is to help provide a positive residential experience for groups staying with us.

Especially, but not exclusively, those groups who work with children and young people.

The Centre is situated in 11 acres of grounds which have been designated a conservation area, with wonderful views, walks and space for open-air games and activities. It is 10 minutes drive along the coast from Newry in the village of Rostrevor at the foot of the Mourne Mountains.

The Centre can provide for both catered and self-catered residential groups and has bed space in the main Centre for 37 people with overflow accommodation in an adjacent building for another 18 people if required.
