Healing ministries endeavours continue

A series in Belfast, a new chair in Dublin

REDUCING STRESS, FINDING PEACE
‘Reducing stress and finding peace’ will be the theme of a series of talks to be held in St Anne’s Cathedral, Belfast in the month of January. They will be held in the context of the Monday evening healing services on January 10, 17 and 24 at 8.00pm. The speaker will be Brother David Jardine, director of Divine Healing Ministries.

Brother Jardine says, ‘Stress is a big problem in the modern world. The pace of life for many people is fast. The “Troubles” in Northern Ireland have left a great legacy of hurt and pain. Current financial difficulties are also putting pressure on many. The weakening of family life does not help. In West Belfast it is reported that 40% of people are taking anti-depressant medication, an incredible figure.’

David Jardine will address the theme from a spiritual point of view and will try to make suggestions that ordinary people can practice in their own lives. Personal prayer for God’s peace and healing will be available in all of these services. He says, ‘If you are under pressure, why not come along to these services in January in Belfast Cathedral in January? It may be the beginning of finding a new peace, strength and calmness in your life.’

DEAN TO CHAIR CMH IN DUBLIN

The Very Rev Dermot Dunne, Dean of Christ Church Cathedral, has been named as the new chairman of the Church’s Ministry of Healing in Dublin and Glendalough. The Rev Canon John Clarke previously held the position.

Speaking of his appointment, the Dean described it as “A privilege and honour “. He went on to say that quote the healing ministry lies at the heart of the ministry of the diocese and focuses on bringing Christ’s healing to all people. I look forward to working closely with the officers and elders of the diocesan committee for the healing ministry.

“The committee has worked tirelessly to promote its ministry in the diocese for many years and it is a testament to its dedication to the ministry that there are now two weekly healing services in the diocese at St Ann’s Church, Dawson Street and here at Christ Church Cathedral.”

The Church’s Ministry of Healing was founded in 1932 to promote and develop a deeper understanding of the healing ministry of our Lord.
