Quiet Day and Lecture by leading American author and preacher

TCD Chaplaincy events
A United Methodist Bishop from the USA, Bishop William Willimon from North Alabama, will conduct a quiet day in Christ Church Cathedral, Dublin on Wednesday, February 16. He is one of the foremost Christian authors in the USA. His books have sold over 1 million copies worldwide and he is widely regarded as one of America’s best preachers. The event is being organized in conjunction with the Church of Ireland chaplaincy at TCD. Bishop Willimon will also deliver the first annual ecumenical chaplaincy lecture in the JM Synge Theatre, TCD, on Tuesday, 15 February at 7 PM.

William Henry Willimon (born May 15, 1946) is a bishop in the United Methodist Church in the U.S., currently serving in North Alabama. He is best known as a theologian, writer, former Dean of the Chapel at Duke University, and as one of America’s best known preachers. A Pew Foundation Survey said he was one of the two most frequently read writers by pastors in mainline Protestantism (Henri Nouwen also noted). His books have sold over a million copies.
