This weekend in Cahir Castle there will be a commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the death of Lt Col Richard Butler Charteris,  the last of the Cahir Butlers. The Butler–Charteris Memorial Lecture will be given this morning by the Dean of St Patrick’s Cathedral, Dublin, Dr Robert MacCarthy, and tomorrow eveningat 5pm there will be Choral Evensong in St Paul’s Church.

Damer Court in Phibsboro will hold their annual fundraiser, an Autumn Fayre / Bumper Auction today from 14.00–17.00.

St Bartholomew’s Church, Belfast, – a lunchtime lecture will be given by the rector, Dr Ron Elsdon, on ‘Does Creation have a Future?’

Revd Adrian Green will be introduced as Bishop’s Curate of Mount Merrion, in the Diocese of Down, at 7.30pm.

Irish College of Preachers annual conference at CITI. The principal speaker will be Dr Michael Green, Head of Evangelism and Apologetics at Wycliffe Hall, Oxford.

In London Dr Steven McBride, Archdeacon of Connor, will preach at the Eucharist in the Church of St Botolph without Bishopsgate where the Revd Dr Alan McCormack, formerly Dean of Residence in Trinity College, is Rector. Dr McBride and Dr McCormack will dine at Lambeth Palace on the preceding evening, at the Annual Feast of the Nikaean Club.

The Birth of the Blessed Virgin Mary

The Ordination and Consecration of The Very Revd Patrick Rooke as a Bishop appointed to serve in the Dioceses of Tuam, Killala and Achonry will take place in St Patrick’s Cathedral, Armagh at 4pm.

Revd Chris Matchett will be instituted as incumbent of St Mark’s, Newtownards, in the Diocese of Down, at 8pm.
