Carlingford Choral Festival

The second annual ‘ Carlingford Choral Festival’, a festival of Advent, Christmas and Popular Music, will take place in Carlingford from December 2nd to December 4th, with participation open to any choir or vocal ensemble.

Choirs will have the opportunity to present performances in various locations in Carlingford, and also have the chance to meet with other choirs, see some of Ireland’s beautiful countryside, sing, mingle, and soak up the festival atmosphere in the village.

The aim is to welcome choirs into an atmosphere of creativity and will have the chance to join voices in song. From arrival to departure, choirs will be immersed in a world of choral traditions that will stay with them for a lifetime.

Carlingford Choral Festival is a non-competitive musical event offering Concerts, Open Air Performances and Church Performances. Concerts will take place in Carlingford Heritage Centre, The Foy Centre and Carlingford Sailing Club.

Open air performances will be held in various locations around Carlingford Village and by Slate Rock on Sliabh Foy. Choirs will also perform at the second Sunday of Advent Masses in St. Michael’s Church, Carlingford, St. Laurence’s Church, Omeath, St. James’ Church, Grange and the Church of Our Lady, Star of the Sea, Boher, and will also have the opportunity to perform in St. Andrews’ Church of Ireland, Rathcor.
